No more importation of Tokunbo cars through land borders from January, 2017 - Federal Government


The Federal government has banned the importation of tokunbo and new cars through the land borders. The ban will take effect from January 1, 2017.

According to statement issued by the Nigeria Customs Services spokesman, Wale adeniyi today, the ban is sequel to the Presidential order to restrict all vehicle imports to Nigerian Sea Ports only with effect to January 1, 2017.

Daily Trust reports the spokesman requesting all the importers of vehicles through land borders are to utulize the grace period up till 31st December 2016 to clear their vehicle imports landed in neighbouring Ports.

This ban is coming months after rice importation through land borders was also banned by Federal government.
